Carmen M Frank

fine artist

Carmen Frank was born in Cordoba, Argentina where she studied fine arts, music and theater. She received a Master Degree in Contemporary Literature from the Cordoba National University. After graduating, her designs in clothing, ceramic and leather were exhibited and sold in many shows.

She moved to New York in 1988 with her husband and two children. Here she continues to develop her unique creativity in a number of mediums.

While volunteering at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden she became Interested in botanical art, using watercolor and inks. Later at the Arts Students League she studied printmaking with Michael Ponce de Leon and Michael Pellettieri, as well as painting with Frank O’Cain. At this time Carmen was invited by Robert Blackburn to join his prestigious studio “The Printmaking Workshop”.

In her search for self-expression she has found sculpting where she combines different disciplines into one. She is currently enjoying experimenting with mixed media and welding.

Carmen currently shows her work in galleries throughout New York. She is a life-time member of The Art Students League, where she has met many valuable mentors.  She  continues to work from her studio in Brooklyn.
